Today, most potentially dangerous tumors could be detected at very early stages with imaging techniques (such as MRI, PET/CT, etc.). However, these procedures are not suitable for use without prior suspicion due to high costs and radiation exposure (e.g., PET/CT). By combining PanTum Detect® with modern
imaging techniques (such as MRI or PET/CT), the test can prove its strength in early detection. In a recent large-scale study (study publication) involving more than 5,000 subjects, PanTum Detect® has shown that it provides sufficient indication for follow-up testing (usually by means of imaging procedures).

Ideal Use of PanTum Detect®
The test is used as part of an early detection program for cancer with the help of imaging procedures and close medical supervision as follows:
1. Annual Implementation
The earlier cancer is detected, the better. The reason for this is that tumors usually grow undetected for many years before they cause any symptoms. According to “Deutsche Krebshilfe”, “early stages […] can usually be treated more successfully and also more gently than late stages, in which metastases may even have already developed”.
Annual screening means good chances of detecting tumors at a very early stage.
2. Radiation Exposure Only When Necessary
In a study of 5,000 healthy volunteers, 151 people underwent imaging procedures following a positive PanTum Detect® result. In 124 cases, cancer or precancerous lesions were diagnosed by imaging.
The preceding blood test thus identifies those people who are most likely to benefit from imaging. Priv.-Doz. Dr. med. habil. G.-Andre Banat, MBA, summarizes the applicability of the new findings as follows: “The study results suggest that this combination of PanTum Detect® blood test and imaging techniques can close major gaps in effective early cancer detection.”
3. No Burden of Costs for the General Public
Imaging costs are often in the 4-digit range. In the context of a clinical study it was shown that for 50-70 year-olds, these costs could occur for approx. 3% of the participants.
We are therefore working on solutions to avoid the cost burden of subsequent imaging both for the individual and the general public as well as for the community of those with public health insurance.
4. Providing Immediate Medical Support
An abnormal finding can unsettle and frighten people. We therefore believe that medical clarification and medical support must be provided as quickly and professionally as possible.
We are currently working on the establishment of a network of medical specialists that meets these requirements.
